As promised, I am going to post in real time as I watch the Dallas Cowboys/Green Bay Packers game today. This game is especially interesting to me on a personal level, for I have an ex who is a die-hard Green Bay fan. I am a die-hard Cowboy fan. So it is on, AJ! LOL
I have a good feeling that the Dallas Cowboys are going to take this game today, since we beat Philadelphia last week, we are on a winning streak, and Green Bay lost last week to Tampa Bay, who before that day had NO WINS! The only real advantage Green Bay has today is that they are playing at home and it's cold! Don't bother me none, my Cowboys have been there, done that, got the jerseys.
Looks like the bookies agree with me. This sports odds site predicts Cowboys by two points. I say more. I think we are going to stomp their asses all over the cold tundra of Wisconsin.
I'll be back at kickoff. Look forward to having you along for what should be a nice ride over the Packers.

Ok! Here we go, are you ready for some football??!
Green Bay wins the toss, but it doesn't do them any good, for within only a few plays and 13:37 left in the first quarter, they have to punt to the Cowboys around Dallas' 20 yard line. However, right off the bat, Tony Romo begins his infamous pass incompletion by trying Austin. And Omg, Romo is sacked, fourth down, and a field goal attempt by the Cowboys, 38 yards and it's NO GOOD!
Green Bay gets the ball and is not having any luck in their first down attempt, UNTIL...Dallas is flagged for holding, instant 1st down for Packers.
With around 7 minutes left in the first quarters, Aaron Rodgers completes three passes in quick succession, but thens starts missing and we end up with Green Bay kicking for a field goal, and it is...NO GOOD!! LOL
Seems we are pretty much on equal footing at this point, with around 6 minutes left in the first quarter with Cowboys taking over at their 53 yard line.
Romo throws to Marion Barber and he makes 13 yards, first down. He throws again, incomplete to Austin, Green Bay takes over after a 22 yard punt from Cowboys, leaving Packers in kind of poor position with around three minutes remaining in 1st quarter, still no score. COWBOYS 0 PACKERS 0.
Packers on their ten yard line, flag against them for holding, then a second flag, third down coming up with two minute warning. Rodgers is blitzed by Cowboys, but there is a flag, illegal hands, hand to face against Cowboys, first down Packers in their 10 yard line, still a lot of green to go the other way.
47 seconds left in 1st quarter, 2nd down and 11 yards, Aaron Rodgers is once again blitz by Cowboys. Next play, Rodgers throws and with only seconds left in first quarter, it looks like the ball is trapped, not in control, rather than caught. Commercial break, will report on results of the flag on that play after the game returns.
The flag was thrown by Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, and the catch was judged no good. 20 seconds added back to the clock, Green Bay punts to Cowboys and they make a 19 yard advance, leaving them in good position going into the second quarter, with the score still 0 to 0.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Dallas starts at their own 49 yard line at the beginning of second quarter. (These damn commmercials!)
The ball is snapped, Romo is brought down for a loss of 10 yards! Second snap of the ball, no yards gained, we are again at 4th down and punting. Now Green Bay has possession of the ball at their 15 yard line, with around 12 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Rodgers makes a nice pass, but the second Dallas Cowboy is injured since the game began after the tackle. (Please bear with me while I learn the names of the players, this is moving so fast!)
Dallas Cowboy player Columbo is out of the game with a high ankle sprain, and when the game comes back from commercial I will find out who this second Cowboy player is who is down, how many yards Green Bay gained in that rally, etc.
Brady James is name of Dallas player, but he's ok. Green Bay throws, another flag, then another! Two personal fouls, holding, against Green Bay.
11 minutes left in 2nd quarter, Dallas has the ball on their 40 yard line, 2nd down and 23 yards. Two ground campaigns, no yardage, Green Bay holding back the Cowboys. Cowboys' make 46 yard punt, Green Bay takes over the ball on approx their 25-30 yard line.
So far this game has been nothing but penalties and injuries, and hold em back!
2nd and 17, Green Bay makes their second successful pass completion, but they are now 3rd and long. Another holding penalty against them.
Jackson makes a first down for Green Bay, with about 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, but second campaign only gains one yard. Here we go again, playing Trade the Ball, hurt each other.
Pass incomplete by Rodgers, fourth down with 4 minutes left till halftime. Green Bay punts, Dallas takes over at their 25 yard line.
I am really surprised. I thought this was going to be a high scoring game. Well, maybe the second half will be a whole other story.
Romo throws a beautiful long pass to Roy Williams, who drops the damn ball! Pile up, Dallas looks to have ball, but when the smoke clears Green Bay has the ball.
With three minutes left Rodgers has no one open to throw to, Dallas Cowboys defense is also doing a mighty job. Here we go again, two minute warning, Rodgers is blitzed from behind, drops the ball, Green Bay keeps it.
Commercial break.
Green Bay gets nowhere, but the ball is turned over to Dallas and neither do they. If we make it to the half time mark with 0 to 0 score, it will be the first professional football game to have no score at halftime this season.
Third false start penalty for Packers, 33 seconds left Rodgers makes great pass to Donald Driver. Next campaign, no help, with 2 seconds left Green Bay calls their last time out. They kick a field goal, and it is...good!
End of first half, score 3 Green Bay Packers, 0 Dallas Cowboys.

Ok, let's see if the second half of this game is going to be any different. I sure hope so. But you gotta say, both teams have done a great job of holding back the other one, a true test of strength and will.
Dallas receives and the ball is run to the 36 yard line. Pass off to Barber, Green Bay puts him down for a loss of one. Romo blitzed from behind for the fourth time today, for a loss of eight yards. 3rd and 19.
Time out from Cowboys
Ball is snapped, Romo is wide open but cannot find an uncovered receiver. He throws the ball away. Penalty against Dallas. Throws again, Green Bay intercepts, but receiver drops the ball, Dallas recovers, even though Green Bay player has ball in hand when the smoke clears. Penalty against Green Bay, first down Dallas.
Commercial break with 12 minutes plus left in 3rd quarter.
Green Bay coach challenges the last call. Waiting for results.
Green Bay given the ball back, on their 15 yard line, with 13 minutes left. Green Bay Grant runs 13 yards for 1st down. 11 minutes, 3rd and five. Snap, Aaron Rodgers runs for 11 yards, first down Green Bay. This is one of the first actual rallies up field for either team today.
3rd down and 7. Rodgers in trouble, (40th sack this season) penalty on the play. (You don't say?) Looks like it's once again holding against Green Bay. 4th down and time
to punt. Ball goes into the end zone, with approx 9 minutes to play in 3rd quarter, Dallas will take over on their 20.
Commercial break. This is the first Packer game I have watched this year, they are very tough, I gotta admit.
First down Dallas, due to a few yards gained and face mask penalty against Green Bay. Romo throws a pass off the tips of Roy Williams fingers!! Argh!
3rd down and 12. Romo makes completion to Choice, another flag. It's against offense, no first down. 3rd and 23. Hand off, no help, 4th down and time to punt.
Green Bay takes over on their own 20 with 6:50 left in the 3rd quarter.
Dang, somebody needs to make a touchdown! I sure hope it's Dallas.
Commercial break.
Green Bay is making forward movement, with two passes received by Driver and two first downs in a row. (If there had to be a decision at this very moment who was playing the best offensive game it would be Green Bay.)
Green Bay player Jenkins is down. He's been a major reason for Green Bay's success so far today. Ok, he's up. It's 5 minutes till end of 3rd quarter and Green Bay is 2nd and 7. Another completed pass by Rodgers, tackled there by Cowboy's defensive player Johnson. Rodgers throws a beautiful pass, 14 yards, 1st down. Green Bay is now on their approx 45 yard line. Rodgers is sacked with next play. 3rd and 13.
Cowboy player Hamlin down...commercial break.
Hamlin on bench.
3rd and 11 Green Bay on the next play. No help. 1st down Green Bay, gain of 9 on next play. Penalty on next play on Dallas thirteen yard line. Hand to face, against Dallas. 1st down Green Bay. Uh oh.
Commercial break.
If you have been keeping up with my coverage today, please leave a comment and let me know. This will help me decide whether I want to continue covering the Cowboy games play by play.
Beginning of 4th quarter.
Rodgers throws to James Jones in end zone, he misses catch. 2nd and 10. Penalty against Dallas for interference against receiver, Driver, on next play. 1st down Green Bay, next throw by Rodgers doesn't connect. Running effort, gain of 4 for Green Bay, makes this 2nd and 6. Throw to Scandrik, complete, tackled on the 1st yard line.
First and goal, Green Bay. They call a time out.
Has Dallas' coach lost his mind? He doesn't huddle his players while they have the chance to take advantage of Green Bay's time out, yet he calls a time out after the players have lined up for the next play??
Whatever.
Green Bay makes touchdown, Dallas penalty for off sides.
With 13 minutes left in the game, Green Bay is ahead 10 to 0.
Cowboys have not been shutout in 94 games.
Felix Jones receives punt from Green Bay inside the five yard line. Penalties on the play against Curtis Johnson, Dallas loses eight yards. Romo throws 24 yards to Roy Williams!
First down Dallas.
Romo sacked hard, ball flies out of his hands, Dallas gets it, jerked away by Green Bay. Charles Woodson is responsible for tackle, 5th sack for Romo today. Felix Jones carries ball, but is he in the sidelines?
Decision being made on challenge by Wade Phillips. Commercial break.
Green Bay has custody of ball. 1st down.
Shotgun play, touchdown Green Bay! Ugh.
17 to 0, Green Bay, less than 10 minutes left in the game.
Ok, back from commercial break. It is time for Dallas to pull out all the stops!! I am going to really start rooting now. We are past time for a touchdown, Dallas cannot let themselves be shutout by Green Bay.
Don't worry, Cowboys have plenty of time to come back and win this game. Ten minutes in football is like one year in dog years. :)
(recovery of loose ball in play is not reviewable, FYI)
Dallas starts this new campaign with a 6 yard loss for Barber in a pass off from Romo. Witten catches pass for 7 yards, his first catch of the day. Lozelle Adams limps off field, Cowboys are left with no spare defensive linemen.
Romo throws, Craton makes catch on Dallas 41 yard line for 1st down. Austin catches pass, next play, pass broken up by Green Bay Nick Collins. 3rd and 8 Dallas. Romo throws to Austin, first down.
Romo throws, receiver wide open but Romo misses mark. 8 minutes left in game.
Next throw incomplete, 4th down and ten Dallas Cowboys. Great throw by Romo, great catch, 14 yards, 1st down. Green Bay coach challenges?? His name is Mike McCarthy, by the way. Commentators say he has no challenges left. Talk going on. (He is trying to say catch wasn't good.)
Referee says that's right, no challenges left for Green Bay. Seven minutes to play. Dallas is on Green Bay's 25 yard line. Another good pass from Romo, first down. Next pass, penalty flags fly. Interference against GB, first down Dallas, also five yards against Dallas for off sides.
First and goal Dallas.
Craton catches pass inside the 5. Romo throws to Austin in end zone, incomplete. Only drive Dallas has had today, don't blow it! Pass broken, flag thrown, defense interference, penalty. Romo throws, Woodson picks it off! Green Bay has the ball again!
There goes the only chance we have had at scoring today. OMG! But a beautiful interception for Charles Woodson of the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay takes over on Dallas' 17 yard line with around 5 minutes left in the game. Headed back up field, Green Bay makes a first down. (*let me get my ducks in a row to finish the coverage of this game. )
Deep Breath.....
Ok. Fair is fair. I will not quit until the game is over. Oh, well, it's been real, and it's been fun, but it ain't been real fun. :(
Rodgers throws, pass incomplete. Campaign gets nowhere, 4th down, Dallas calls last timeout. Approx. 3 minutes left in the game.
Craton receives near the 50 yard line, gets nowhere. Flags again fly. Penalty against Dallas' Curtis Johnson, lots for him today. Sending Dallas back to their own 37 yard line as we near the two minute warning.
Romo throws to Barnett, almost picked off. Romo makes 16 yard completion to Roy Williams. Another completion to Witten, for 10 yards, but not before Jolly knocks Romo down, hard.
Two minute warning, commercial break.
The Cowboys are only trying to keep from getting completely shutout by Green Bay at this point.
With 56 seconds left, Romo completes pass to Witten. Cowboys are inside Green Bay's ten yard line. Pass completed to Williams, touchdown Dallas!
Score with 34 seconds left 17 Green Bay 7 Dallas, (of course, that's final.) Onside kick by Cowboys, no time outs left, that's a wrap folks.
Talk to you later. I gotta go soak my head.
